Interview with Dr. Gary Cecchi
As the Managing Partner of the Northern California Hematology and Oncology Medical group, Dr. Gary Cecchi provides valuable insight and services to a myriad of patients. With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Gary Cecchi continues to recognize quality patient care as his top priority and works to stay apprised of all pertinent medical developments and new techniques in his field. We spoke with Dr. Gary Cecchi to learn more about his practice and work.
Q. Aside from oncology and hematology, do you concentrate on any other types of medicine?
A. Yes. In fact, my associates and I at the Northern California Hematology and Oncology Medical Center assist patients in identifying alternative therapies, oftentimes in conjunction with their medical treatment. These avenues include acupuncture, botanical therapy, integrative medicine, herbal therapy, and nutritional support. We find that many patients experience favorable results when combining such treatments with more traditional ones and taking both an allopathic and homeopathic approach to healing.
Q. What are your main foci at the Northern California Hematology and Oncology Medical Center?
A. We specialize in cancers, palliative care, and blood disorders. We also work closely with several medical facilities, including John Muir Medical Center, Doctor’s Medical Center, and Contra Costa County Medical Center.
Q. Where did you complete your medical schooling and training?
A. I initially attended Boston College, where I received my Bachelor’s degree, and I later went on to earn my Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine. I also completed my Internal Medicine Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Q. Do you take part in any professional organizations?
A. Yes, I remain a member of the California Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
